Description: The Federation of Kichwa Organizations in Sucumbios, Ecuador (FONAKISE) buys raw materials for the production of essential oils, disinfectants, soaps, and creams. These Amazonian products have various uses, for example, ginger is used to treat flu and pneumonia, lemongrass serves as a repellent and helps the joints, and turmeric is used to dye shigras (a traditional side bag), and to color our foods instead of achiote (traditional Amazonian food colorant).
